Off Campus Writers' Workshop was founded in 1946 when a few talented women met in their homes to share their short stories and learn about the craft of writing from each other.

These women began the evolution of the oldest local writing workshop in America, with membership open to men and women, called the Off-Campus Writers' Workshop.

My, how we've evolved over the years.  Our workshops draw some of the best speakers, authors and instructors in the Chicago area.

Our members range from the successfully  published to those budding forth with pen and paper clutched to their heart.  After all these years,  we continue to blend the ancient arts with modern technology,  merging into the style of the old salon days of Gertrude Stein and friends.

What … Off-Campus Writer's Workshop is an association of more than 200
              Chicago-area writers.

Who  … Our membership represents a cross-section of writing levels:  beginning, semi-professional, and professional writers.   Many OCWW members are authors of award-winning books.

Where    Our workshops are held at the Winnetka Community House at 620 Lincoln Avenue in  Winnetka, Illinois.   Call 847/446-0537 if you need driving directions.

When … We meet most Thursday mornings, September through May, --
9:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.   (Networking and registration begin at 9:00 a.m.)
Although you are not required to be an OCWW member to attend our workshops, you do get use of our library, invitations to members-only summer events, our newsletter five times per year, and a holiday party in December.   Annual membership dues is $30 - For more information email our president at Info@ocww.bizland.com.
